When children feel a connection, they feel belonging and significance. As you learn about the many Positive Discipline tools, notice that they are all designed to create a connection before respectful correction. #positivediscipline #positivedisciplinetoolcards

How we listen is one of the most important factors that determines how our relationships go and how successful we are in work, family, parenting, and friendship. Isn’t it interesting that we’re far more motivated to improve our talking skills than our listening skills.

Punishment only drives compliance, not change. #Connection and #coregulation are the keys to positively impacting children through compassionate #behaviormanagement. It takes effort and time to go this route, but the benefits last a lifetime.

Things don’t always need to get done according to who is right. What matters is that two people are intentional about contributing to each other’s happiness. This means giving each other the space to make mistakes and develop competence through trial and error.
