UPDATE: The outpouring of concern for John has been amazing. I can tell you that he is on the mend and getting his strength back. Before you know it his notebook and pen will be back at your community event.

I had the honour of working with John and learning from him for the past 3.5 years. He was committed to his craft, and he is a true legend in the journalism industry and devoted community leader. He will be missed.
