Moose populations in New York and New England face an uncertain future due to climate change, increasing deer populations, and parasite impacts. AIM Network and Northeast Wildlife collaborators are working hard to collect monitoring data across this landscape. SUNY ESF Roosevelt Wild Life Station
Yes! Northeast Wildlife has been working hard for the past decade to provide monitoring data for Canada lynx conservation in the Northeastern U.S. using a network of #cameratraps. Keep up the great work @alexejpksiren and NEWMN cooperators!
To cluster wildlife cameras or not? Recent research suggests Yes! Check out: Laura Stewart’s thesis with @wildco.bsky.social on Bluesky in the N.W.T: open.library.ubc.ca/soa/cIRcle/col… And this recent study (Palencia et al., 2024) in BES: besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…
We just released the model to extract snow depth from snow pole images! 🥳Paper: agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… .
