There is an urgent need to address the high rates of smoking amongst PWH. This trial tested two proven interventions to support smoking cessation but could not show any benefit of either, suggesting new strategies are needed to help PWH to stop smoking.

In this UK long term follow-up study from Colette J. Smith et al. among ART treated virally suppressed PWH, it was shown that PWH who started treatment after age 60 had a lower CD4/CD8 recovery rate.
