The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act can undo the Supreme Court’s damage to the Voting Rights Act, which was signed into law 59 years ago today. bit.ly/3Af8Gxq

The VRA turns 59 today! But decades of progress secured by this landmark piece of legislation has been undercut by the Supreme Court in recent years. To protect voters, especially voters of color and low-income communities, it must be restored to it's full force.

Our democracy is at stake. Voting rights are on the ballot. Tell Congress to pass comprehensive voting rights legislation to ensure every eligible voter can have a voice in our democracy. #RestoreTheVRA #VotingRightsAct bit.ly/3VFzm1f

Here are some of the many ways that Americans’ access to the ballot box would be in better shape today if Congress had passed the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act: bit.ly/3Af8Gxq

In November, voters in *more than half* the states will face obstacles that they never encountered in a presidential election before. No surprise that falls hardest on voters of color, low-income voters, voters with disabilities & other marginalized communities.

This is outrageous. The Supreme Court has yet again used its shadow docket to inject confusion into the election process at the last minute in a way that jeopardizes the rights of VA voters (and possibly voters in other states where there are last-minute voter purge efforts).

BREAKING: This executive order would block tens of millions of American citizens from voting. Presidents have no authority to do this. This order, like the SAVE Act now before Congress, would hurt voters and suppress the vote. x.com/rapidresponse4…

BREAKING: A federal court ruled that the Election Assistance Commission must temporarily halt implementation of the Trump administration's voting executive order mandating a passport or similar document proving citizenship when registering to vote. This is a big win.
