A driving principle of ACoRNS is to work in partnership with practice to enhance the lives of autistic children. So, it's extra special for us to be joined by two of our founding community partners this evening as we celebrate winning the University of Southampton Vice Chancellor's Award!

Today's lab meeting was full of rich thought, as Emily Ellington led us through a shared discussion on positionality statements. How do you view positionality statements in research?

Research-practice partnerships can help explore issues that matter to schools, young people and their families. It was great to hear an update on a collaborative research project undertaken by some of our ACoRNS Team in partnership with a mainstream secondary school today! 🤝

In today's lab meeting, we explored the concept of 'allyship'. The conversations sought to further our shared understanding of what being an effective 'ally' means and how this manifests in our work. What does 'allyship' mean to you? 🤔💭

We were lucky to be joined by the wonderful Dr Lauran Doak today, who took us through an excellent presentation on understanding how minimally verbal autistic learners communicate. Fascinating insights into multi modal analysis & working with systematic/ idiosyncratic communicators.

Today, team ACoRNS Southampton got together to think about how, where and why we share our work with others. We want to raise awareness, change perspectives, and provide practical guidance to improve the lives of autistic children and young people. What do you want to hear from us? ✨
