Today we hosted our Annual General Meeting (AGM). During the meeting, we reflected on the year’s progress, received key annual highlights and reviewed financial reports.  The AGM provided a valuable platform for open discussion, accountability, and sustainability strategies.

Happening now is the Generating Ambition for Locally Led Adaptation (GA-LLA) Review and Planning Workshop. This important gathering aims to reflect on Year 1 of the (GA-LLA) programme and collaboratively develop plans and priorities for Year 2.

The East African Hub meeting is underway in Nakuru, Kenya (Aug 4–7, 2025), uniting SDI affiliates from Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania to tackle climate change & urban informality, harness data for advocacy, and share lessons for movement building.

Happening now: Slum Dwellers International leadership and development exchange program home coming workshop. The focus is on presenting the experiences learnt from our counterparts Muungano wa Wanavijiji on locally led climate adaptation.

National Land Awareness Week continues. Our dedicated team is on ground, actively engaging communities and facilitating the signing of Certificates of Customary Ownership (CCOs).

The Recorders from Northern and Industrial Divisions in Mbale city have concluded the registration process of 1,055 Certificates of Customary Ownership (CCOs) – a big win for tenure security! These will be handed over during the closing ceremony of the Land Awareness Week, 2025.

Today we wrapped up the FGDs in Nakulabye and Kisenyi III under the ACRC K'la initiative on electricity access in informal settlements. The insights provide an evidence base that will inform the co-creation of desired sustainable solutions for equitable access to electricity.
