We have created our own metre ruler, made links to fractions of a metre and converted between m and cm, we then used this to estimate the length of items before accurately measuring using measuring tapes.

We made sensible estimates of various lengths of ribbon & string, we then used a 1m and 10cm piece of bamboo to anchor off & change our original estimates before accurately measuring converting between m and cm. Such wonderful maths conversations happening in the room.

What a day of women’s cricket! 🏏🔥 Rogie Rebels stayed on top of the A League and Blackwood held their spot at the top of the C League. 💪👏 All teams also observed a minute’s silence in memory of Kirsty Needs - a player who epitomised the spirit of women’s sport. 🕊️💙

As part of our WW2 inquiry we have explored cryptography and various secret codes and code breaking strategies. We then explored morsecode and programmed our Micro:bit Educational Foundation to send and receive morse code messages to a friend.
