Remember when the White House spent YEARS warning us all about Huawei “back-doors” as it’s a Chinese spy tool...? Ironically the same White House is now making rules that force EVERY American AI chip exported abroad to carry a silent GPS. Nvidia even just said the idea is crazy

Wait, I ust realised this means foreign hospitals using NVIDIA GPUs can be turned off at any time by the US as they'd literally be able to jam any GPS or invalidate the license with a button uhhh how would this be allowed.......

Omg only a DAY after OpenAI made the best open source model, China just one upped them 😂😂😂 Alibaba’s latest thinking model is insanely good for it’s size class. The only model that can hit 80 %+ on AIME while running in 8GB. China literally own the open source LLM market,

All this talk about Jack Ma, yet in the US, Jeff Bezos was literally sued for doing the same kind of thing (no, not for criticising the gov but for how they treat third‑party sellers.) And because of the heavy US law path, it’s been delayed for years already.. it still isn’t

The creator of this recipe was a British guy (Andrew Stow) living in Macau! He got divorced, and so his wife who co-owned the bakery sold his recipe to KFC China, and it’s hence now one of the best in China!

Kinda funny how Trump thought chip bans would keep China “behind” in AI. Now it’s the total opposite😬 NVIDIA made a China-only H20 chip, which sucked from the start, just 15% of its best H100’s power.. which i don’t know anybody inside China using. So almost all Chinese

Good thread. I liked starbucks to study - unfortunately it never entered the Xinjiang market due to politics. In fact Tims is the only western cafe brand to enter but it’s not too popular… Xinjiang’s cafe market is totally dominated by a local brand: Meseta. It has great coffee

FINALLY! After 8 months of review, my final paper for my PhD in Medical AI has been accepted🎉🎉🎉 Absolute agony, but super happy. I started my PhD 6 years ago, an insane journey. If I knew it would be this hard I’d not do it. But.. I guess it’s worth it now! Next steps?

Lmaooo, for PhD in China you need to: - find professor who wants you - pass interview with him - pass a technical panel interview with your department - pass 2 years of exams + chinese exam - pass qualifying exam (about 20% fail this) - pass oral exam - publish 2-3 SCI papers

Xi has also literally repeatedly thanked Allied help in WWII so many times... And Arnaud is right, the US fought mainly in Burma and in the air, while tens of millions of Chinese soldiers and civilians died in China. Today is about that experience in China for the Chinese
