Space Launch Delta 45 has entered Hurricane Condition III (HURCON III) in preparation for Hurricane Ian. HURCON III indicates surface winds in excess of 50 knots (58 mph) could arrive in the area of Patrick Space Force Base and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station within 48 hours.

We have established a hurricane recovery team to perform damage assessment & recovery actions as necessary when weather permits. All members not identified as HRT or mission essential should stay in touch w/ their units for info & when it will be safe to return home & to work.

We are continuing to assess both Patrick Space Force Base & Cape Canaveral Space Force Station for damage from Hurricane Ian. The ALL CLEAR has not been given at this time. We are currently in RECON 2. Facility managers are currently permitted to access the base.

After they deem their facility safe, mission essential personnel are authorized access. We will be slowly reopening facilities throughout Friday and over the weekend, and expect to fully reopen on Monday, October 3.
