Judge Bishop hosted another round of mock trials with the UF Trial Team and Union County Middle schoolers—only this time, there's a sketch artist capturing the action with shockingly accurate courtroom sketches. 👀⚖️✍️

Union County Court Judge Mitchell D. Bishop has been hard at work these past two weeks in mock trials, but what better way to wrap it up than by giving back to his alma mater? Union County High School must be proud!

Magistrate Katie Floyd made lots of new friends while speaking to the Norton and Hidden Oak Elementary Civics Clubs about what’s happening at the Alachua County Civil Courthouse. They were most interested in the name change process—she promises no one’s names were changed. 🍎⚖️🤓

8th Circuit Judges Susanne Wilson Bullard and George Wright participated in Santa Fe High School’s Career Day. Judge Susie Wilson Bullard received a warm welcome from her alma mater and also enjoyed sharing her experiences as a former SFHS student.

Alachua County Court Judge Kristine Van Vorst and Alachua County Clerk of the Court Jess Irby gave these students an invaluable firsthand look at the judicial system. Best of luck to them when they step into the courtroom for the real “Mock Trial”.

Judge Miller-Jones enjoyed Lincoln Middle School's "Career Day Scavenger Hunt." Students had to find professionals who wear a uniform (or a robe) as well as professionals who keep our community safe—a little friendly competition with Alachua Co. Sheriff and a lot of smiles.

Eighth Judicial Circuit Judge Bill Davis and Alachua County Court Judge Susan Miller-Jones recently spoke to the Alachua County Citizens Academy, sharing insights on the justice system and answering community questions. It was a great opportunity to learn and connect.

The Courts of the 8th Circuit will be closed on Friday, April 18th, in observance of Good Friday. The Alachua County Clerk’s Office will be open, but the Clerks' offices in Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist, Levy, and Union Counties will be closed.

Judge Keim was featured in the Alachua County Clerk of Court’s Bring Your Daughter or Son to Work Day! The kids were very engaged, and what a great way to express our gratitude for all the work the Clerks do for the judiciary.

It was a bittersweet day in the 8th Judicial Circuit. We celebrated the incredible careers and friendships of two fantastic colleagues, both named Pam! We wish you both all the best on a well-deserved retirement.

Eighth Circuit Judges attended the 23rd Annual Levy/Gilchrist County Law Day on the banks of the historic Suwannee River. There was a great crowd, and it was a beautiful day to honor law enforcement.
