One of the best things about rodeo, watching a hardened competitor reduced to tears, not because he won the buckle, but because of the name that was one it, and what the person meant to them. Other athletes don't even know whom the trophy is named after.

As far as I know, this weekend's Cochrane Lions Rodeo is the first ever to be sanctioned by all four of Alberta's semi-pro organizations. Over 100 more entries than last year. #workingtogether
