Still love that I wrote the kicker for FURIOSA halfway through the film. That’s how good it is. Peerless action at work here.

''Furiosa' aims to blow you away. And it does. To Valhalla and beyond.' —Robert Daniels (Robert Daniels), RogerEbert.com (@ebertvoices). George Miller's post-apocalyptic revenge prequel stars Anya Taylor-Joy as a young Furiosa. Now playing! 🔥🎟️: bit.ly/FuriosaQuad

I'm on the more positive end of the new Sorrentino (sorry, not sorry). It's conception of beauty, in my opinion, is as much in the philosophical and mythological sense as it is the aesthetic kind.

SIMON OF THE MOUNTAIN (solid), JULIE KEEPS QUIET (very good), BLUE SUN PALACE (fantastic).

I wrote about these Critics’ Week films for RogerEbert.com. My dispatch.

Feeling insane because Ryusuke Hamaguchi released another low-key masterpiece last weekend and it seems like no one is talking about it. His unsettling EVIL DOES NOT EXIST is a departure from his previous work, but no less thoughtful and masterful. Review: bit.ly/4bNgyUh

I think TO A LAND UNKNOWN, an aching Palestinian film that just premiered at is tremendous.

I remember reading interviews like this when I was a kid, when it seemed like the whole world was full of interesting people on interesting paths, and some line would stick with you for years, for decades.

I think Egyptian director Hala Elkoussy’s fervent satire EAST OF NOON is phenomenal; it's one of the best, lesser known films playing at that should be sought out.
