Music City, Tynedale's bank holiday music scene started in Mr Ants Bar with the West Coast Band. On Saturday night the Tap and Spile had the Chloe Chadwick band and on Sunday the 606 band. The Tyne Bar, Newcastle had George Shovlin and the Radars. Boys of Brass in the Tannery.

The bands in Music City Tynedale started in Mr Ants Bar with Red Shoes, a new band for me. On Saturday the Fox were entertained by Lynch Mob and on Sunday they hosted Somebody's Cat.

It's that time of year again, l've been at the Darlington Blues Festival (Sunday) with a great crowd from Hexham, fifteen of us attended and saw some cracking bands over the day/night. I didn't get around them all but gave it a good go.

It was a busy weekend of music for me: on Saturday night l was at the Queen's Hall, Hexham to see the excellent Simon and Garfunkel Story show, followed immediately by a dash to the Fox, Hexham to see the Proper Boys and then on Sunday back to the Fox for Ma Kelly's Boys.

If you're in the Brampton, Spaedeadam, Haltwhistle, Bardon Mill, Allendale, Allenheads area keep your eyes to the skies this afternoon at about 14.30 - 14.50: it's the final flypast of the RAF's Tornado jets. They're doing a whistle-stop tour of their old stomping grounds.

St. Patrick's weekend in Hexham started in Mr Ants with Lynch Mob and their Irish folk set. Saturday night and it was The Golden Lion, Corbridge for The West Coast Band, great "California" rock covers. Sunday in the Tap and Spile with DVD and some guitar rock. Marvellous.

A new venue in Hexham for me this last weekend, on Friday Ritchie McMahon was in The Vault. In Mr Ants Bar Dplus an acoustic duo entertained the punters. On Saturday night it was to the Golden Lion Corbridge to see Blistered Molly. The Tap and Spile had Riff Raff on Sunday.
