Update - 4200 Colchester Dr; scenario, renovation/demo of concrete slab & foundation shifted & caused natural gas leak in basement, which found ignition source, an explosion blew out temporary rear wall, ignited 1st floor joist space & extended; Damage ~$300K; 1 family displaced

Units from the 4th responded for a large fuel spill. Co. 25(Aspen Hill) and Co. 18 (Glenmont) along with BC 704 arrived to find a strong odor of gasoline. Crews found several fuel cans in a garage as the cause of the odor. The building was ventilated. There were no injuries.

Units were dispatched for a vehicle collision at the intersection of Randolph Rd and Connecticut Ave. Co. 21 (Veirs Mill Village) Co. 18 (Glenmont) and Rescue 2 (Wheaton) and Batt 704 arrived to find 2 vehicles involved. A total of 3 victims were transported to the hospital.

Co. 18 (Glenmont) puts their new engine in service. The new units is a 2019 Pierce Enforcer. The engine features low profile hose beds shorter wheel base and new 1 1/2” attack lines

Today Sta. 40 (Olney) placed their new fire engine E740 in service. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue is in the process of placing 25 new engines in service, this will continue to allow us to deliver the best fire and rescue service in the state!

Co12 (Hillandale) Co16 (Four Corners) and Co15 (Burtonsville) responded for a vehicle collision with a person trapped in a car. Co12 arrived to find a person trapped under a car after being struck. Firefighters quickly lifted the car by hand and freed the victim.
