Before 2022, the last time the Pennsylvania Democrats won the State House was back in 2008. They won 104 seats that year, but featured a totally different coalition than what Obama put up to win at the same time.

Rural, WWC support for the Dems offset suburban Obama/GOP voters.

Trying to make sense of Tuesday's primary election results? Don't strain your brain too much. In a low turnout, low information election, old school factors like geography and name recognition become key. W/ Angela Couloumbis and Katie Meyer spotlightpa.org/news/2024/04/p…

The Pittsburgh region saw the lowest presidential primary turnout since 2012, but interestingly Dems still beat GOP in showing up to the polls, when usually it’s the opposite when a Dem incumbent is in the White House. triblive.com/local/westmore…

I recall Ben Forstate saying a few years ago that south central PA would be the place to watch in the next few cycles. Looks like that was a good guess.

Both Bob Casey and Dave McCormick were uncontested in tonight’s PA Senate primaries.

Yes Casey is a longtime incumbent, but he matched the total D presidential primary turnout while McCormick received almost 72,000 (8%) fewer votes than the total R presidential primary turnout.

Biggest warning sign for Trump is not Philly or Pittsburgh suburbs

It’s that Haley cracked 20% in Erie, Lancaster, Cumberland, Dauphin (Harrisburg)

These mid-size counties are not types of places Trump can afford to bleed votes

Lancaster especially is a historically red county

Headed into the general election, let's all transition into a more holistic embodiment of Kevin's rule #1 (which was violated by so many this cycle): be normal.

This is a super interesting district because a. Pike is the only Pa county in the nyc media market and b. It tends to be pretty influenced by transplants and also Moonies
