Politic@l Spinner Australia's two way trade with the U.S. is worth $52b. The U.S. buys only $17b of our goods. Australia's two way trade with China is worth $325b. Our top 5 exports to China alone total $155b. It's a no brainer as to where we need to focus our efforts.

How about we have in Australia an anti-anti-vaxxer envoy. Anti-vaxism is far more dangerous to the Australian population than anti semetism.

Imagine having to commit to another country’s war ambitions (against your major trading partner), a decision where you have no say, before they sell you their military hardware: is there a precedent for this abandonment of sovereignty?

I travelled to China with three different Prime Ministers and a deputy PM. All were for five or six days. None involved “pivoting away’ from the US. All resulted in bigger trade with China, increasing Australia’s wealth!

Colby's hawkish connivance to lock Australia into hostile China posture, continuation of manoeuvring by Biden era China hawk Kurt Campbell who masterminded AUKUS cahoots with Scott Morrison and Boris Johnson, and bought hook line and sinker by successors. Sometimes you despair 😑

The hypothetical question of what would Australia do in the event of an invasion of Taiwan is being used by trump to disrupt PM Anthony Albanese visit to China. Albo should do as he has done so-far with the Orange idiot …politely ignore him. What would the US do if an invasion occurred?

Polls say that Australians are not interested in being a client state of the US. Don’t take kindly to being bullied or extorted to join wars for US aims, particularly as Trump obliterates the international law that we rely on for our safety, and sovereignty. Prefer to be

Jillian Segal finds repellent the racism she addresses in her report on anti-Semitism. What about the racism her husband funds through Advance - racism directed at marginalised, powerless Muslims, First Nations peoples, migrants?

This is Darwin Port. It's not much more than a strip of concrete and a few cranes. Operating it delivers no security function . It's not a military facility. Nothing's changed since the original security review found "nothing to see". Albo's flipflop on ownership was cheap...

Imagine a government “Islamophobia Envoy” is appointed. It then emerges their family trust is the second biggest funder of a notorious, hateful propaganda outfit that expressly targets Jews. Just think of the monumental, wall-to-wall outrage. There’s your racism, right there.

Pleased the organisation on whose board I sit has published this measured appraisal of the Segal dossier, and found it deeply unsatisfactory from an academic perspective, which, of course, it is. Suggest this be read. The Conversation - Australia + New Zealand theconversation.com/antisemitism-p…
