New #ImprovementAnalytics Unit analysis shows that online consultation systems can: ▶️ facilitate choice & flexibility in accessing primary care ▶️ mitigate the risk of digital exclusion when practices combine traditional & digital routes to access. health.org.uk/publications/a…

New #ImprovementAnalytics Unit The Health Foundation independent analysis examines unique data capturing a patients’ journey through general practice linking access mode (online vs phone/in-person), patient characteristics, preferences, delivery mode and time taken health.org.uk/publications/a…

Results indicate a clear shift to online access, but this varies by patient characteristics, needs and preferences e.g. men were 10% less likely to access online than women. new medical problems were twice as likely to come in via the online channel than existing medical problems

Study challenges assumption most patients prefer f2f consultation. Sep 21, 10% of requests asked for a f2f and 55% for a phone call. Key factors in determining appropriate blend of consultation type are likely to include age, frequency of use, clinical need and patient preference

"Do the right research", shame that the main example of this is a trial. The role of #improvementanalytics and observational studies is key in supporting the NHS in becoming a learning health system. There will be some great examples of observational studies at #HSRUK22

Today, the #ImprovementAnalytics Unit The Health Foundation publishes a briefing summarising some of the evidence on multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and consider what this means for implementation: health.org.uk/publications/r… This thread shares a little more about what we found 1/5

My team, the #improvementanalytics unit at The Health Foundation, published an important piece of work today, on how to use evaluation and monitoring to make MDTs a success. MDTs are key to ICSs and PCNs, and analytics can help to make sure they achieve their aims. health.org.uk/publications/r…

Want to lead excellent evaluation work in a great team at The Health Foundation? I have now left the #improvementanalytics unit, so that is no longer a reason not to apply ;-)
