Keep on ruckin'! On Friday, June 7 Westover hosted a Norwegian Foot March, coordinated by the Army Reserve. The test consisted of a 30 km (18.6 mi.) march/run while wearing a rucksack weighing 11 kg (24 lbs.).

Last night our Fire Department provided mutual aid for a structure fire - a townhouse unit at that location was struck by lightning. The team was tasked with salvage and overhaul, covering furniture from further damage, and opening ceilings/walls to check for any fire extension.

This week airlift was well represented with a C-17, C-130s and C-5M Super Galaxys on our ramp. The 62 AW C-17, Joint Base Lewis-McCord, Wash. was dropping off cargo. The 103 AW C-130s spent the night while the parking ramp at Bradley ANGB was painted. 62nd Airlift Wing @103aw

Farewell Major Clawson! On July 11 Col. G. Buchanan, 439th Airlift Wing commander, presented Major Paul G. Clawson a token of appreciation for his three years of service as Westover’s Staff Judge Advocate.  Thank you, Maj Clawson, and we wish you success in the Lone Star State!

The 439th CRF has won the 2023 AFRC CR Unit of the Year! And Major John Archambeau, was named Expeditionary Operations Team of the Year - Field Grade Officer and SMSgt James C. Grove Jr. was awarded the Expeditionary Operations Team of the Year – Senior Enlisted category.

Master Sgt. Erik Richards celebrates his fini-flight with his family at Westover Air Reserve Base Hanger, Aug. 22.  He served with the 337th Airlift squadron since 2011.  Richards serves as a deputy with the Cumberland County, ME Sheriff’s Department.
