When I drill into it (granted, I rarely do because it's mostly a waste of time) I find many folks stating art is too expensive are: inexperienced, haven't done the research, didn't build a network, are contacting Magic artists only, and/or have a giant number of pieces they want.

In context of the AI “art” discussion… if your game needs dozens/hundreds of unique illustrations…

1) does it?
2) get creative on how you use fewer illustrations
3) talk to artists about options
4) does it???
