Soooo #Thunderbolts was pretty damn good. Alot of folks that are writing this film off are gonna be genuinely surprised how good this movie is. A back to basics approach was a smart decision.

I'm a little bothered by David Hogg's comments because they are a sleight of hand. The "move Jim Clyburne out of the way, because it's all about his ego" thing, is funny coming from Hogg. And while I think many people want the "old guard" to leave I think "why" is important here.

If people want older democrats to stop being leaders of the party they typically say it's because those democrats are too much about compromise and old school ways of using power. Reaching consensus with the "other side" if you will. And I can agree with that.

But in the same appearance on Maher, David Hogg was also talking about young men who are MAGA and how democrats need to get those guys to vote democrat. They need them back at the table. In other words, they need to compromise.

So when looking at the bigger picture what Hogg is actually promoting is that the democrats reach across the aisle to young white conservative leaning MAGA men at the expense of older, southern, Black democrats. And THAT'S what rubbed me wrong.

Been spinning it in my head all day and finally crystalized it. It's just a different way of saying "Black voters and their issues are holding the democratic party back. We should only concern ourselves with the issues of white men." Meanwhile Hogg never considers a key factor

What if these young white men aren't coming back and aren't mistakenly aligning with Trump. What if they simply like what he's doing and saying more than anything democrats can do or say? Where is the proof of concept that they will be moved by Hogg's messaging?
