Too Broad & Too Deep Podcast Too many ideas. Some of them are quite good - the whole Seven Galaxies business. But it gets bogged down in subplots about grizzled space cops and androids. It’s an example of the sort of wild First Novel Virgin would let through. I wonder if his next one would have been better.

Some interesting ideas which each stand on their own, but they don't really gel together, and the writing is not the best. Not great, but there are worse out there. 1/2

Too Broad & Too Deep Podcast Joey I would have been just 13 when I read that, and although not an instant classic, I did enjoy it as a strong space adventure. Looking back now it does feel VERY 1990s, & overly full of NA tropes and cliches, no doubt reflecting PDE's editorial views. 1/
