Our January Family Workshop, led by our UFT Center Coach, Mrs. Melo, focused on strategies that families can employ to foster meaningful discourse with students at home. The session emphasized the importance of utilizing open-ended questions to engage students in conversation.
Today, our Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) facilitated a professional development session focused on “Elevating Student Thinking Through Strategic Questioning & Collaborative Protocols.” This session aims to enhance instructional practices & foster deeper student engagement.

First Grade students, guided by Ms. Coleman, Science Teacher, became energy detectives today! They explored how energy is used throughout the school, conducting interviews with our AP, office staff, kitchen staff, & head custodian. A hands-on lesson in sustainability & teamwork!

As part of the Nutrition Collaborative, our Food and Nutrition staff met with the Student Council to gather feedback on cafeteria meals. Students participated in a taste test featuring sweet and sour chicken and pasta with vegetables and peas.
