During Respect for All Week, every student wrote why they were special or unique on a colored strip of paper which were then united to form a class chain. Chains were linked together to form a rainbow and a school wide display. #ourstudentsarespecialandprecious

Posters that were created by our 7th and 8th graders in history class highlighting the accomplishments of various Black heroes throughout history were displayed in our auditorium. All classes were invited to take a gallery walk and enjoy our student work.

Ms. Carroll’s 3rd grade class also created posters to celebrate Black History Month. They were displayed in our auditorium for all to enjoy as well!

Mrs. Draghi and class 3-311 performed a dance in honor of Black History Month for some classes to watch. After the performance, classes were invited to take a gallery walk to view student work celebrating Black History.

During Respect for All Week, classes engaged in a self identity activity demonstrating respect for diversity, disability & religious acceptance. Classes created a puzzle according to that theme. All puzzles were added to a school wide display.

PreK 202 and teachers Ms. Draghi, Ms. Pastrana, Ms. Frasca, Mr.Yu, supported by Principal Mr. Muscarelle, led NYC in a rainbow yoga flow. They warmed up, let the rain fall down their body, took some breaths of joy, and drew rainbows with their different body parts.

Our 5th graders' Ballroom Dancing event concluded an 8 week residency with instructor Mr. Dwayne Beach from Dancing Classrooms NYC. Students danced the Waltz, Tango, Merengue, Fox Trot and the Polka. They gave such an amazing performance after much hard work and practice. #proud

Our STEAM Lab received some new robot technology this week. Students had a chance to code and program using Makey-Makey devices, Dash and Sphero Indi robots! The students had a great time working together to explore this equipment.

Students in 6-411 tested their parachute and egg drop designs in STEAM class this week. They’ve been learning all about how aid drop packages are made to send during natural disasters. They used the Engineering Design Process to make their prototypes!
