We are excited to use Twitter. Today was Spirit Day and we are happy Huskies! Innovation Elementary Claire Peters
We did a science experiment to practice making observations like scientists. We put mystery balls into the water and waited to see what would happen. The color went into the water and the balls started to dissolve. Innovation Elementary
We did #hourofcode and used Dash robots. We had to write code together to tell Dash how to move through the obstacle course. Nobody made it. Dash bumped into the obstacles. We had to fix the bugs! Coding was epic! π€πInnovation Elementary
We have some kindness helpers and they give us kindness missions to do. We named them Snowy and Anna. Some people think they are elves. They move around to a new spot in the classroom every night. We really like them and being kind! π§βοΈπ Innovation Elementary
We made UV detector bracelets. When UV light is detected, the beads change color. If there is UV light, we should wear sunscreen to be sun safe! Innovation Elementary Thanks @asfsinvstation for the idea! βοΈπ
We made hats as part of a Mystery Science lesson. We had to make hats that would keep us cool, be absorbent, and keep the sun off of our face. We had to think about the properties of each material and be creative! π§’ππ©ππͺββοΈInnovation Elementary
It was our 100th Day of School! We made cereal necklaces with 10 groups of 10, we wrote about what we will do when we are 100 years old, and we tried to see how many things we could do in 100 seconds like hop on one foot or write our names. It was awesome! π―π₯³ Innovation Elementary
Thank you Francisco DurΓ‘n, Ed.D. for joining us Innovation Elementary as a mystery reader for Read Across America week! Huskies loved your book Dreamers and your encouraging words to be BIG dreamers and to read, read, read! πππΎπΎβ¨ #ArlingtonReads Arlington Public Schools Claire Peters @1wFirst @2CHuskies
We are learning about animals and their characteristics. We sorted animals into groups based on how they move (swim or fly), where they live (desert or arctic), or their body covering (scales or feathers). ππ₯ππ»ββοΈπ¦π¦ Innovation Elementary
We had a mystery reader! We got clues and tried to guess who it would be. It was a mom of someone in our class. We thought the book was awesome! π Innovation Elementary
It is Spirit Week at Innovation Elementary ! Today was Wacky Tacky Day and we are not matching and are very silly. Yesterday was Heritage Day and we wore things from the countries where our families are from. We think Spirit Week is incredible! π€ͺπ
We are learning about force and motion. Things can move in many ways like straight, back and forth, and in circles. We made spinners and they spin in a circle as they fall. We thought the spinners were incredible. Innovation Elementary π π
We learned about Earth Day which is today! We all pledged that we will take care of the Earth by picking up trash, recycling, and reusing paper or water bottles. This will help keep Earth clean and healthy! Innovation Elementary #EarthDay ππβ»οΈβοΈ
We read a book called Give Bees a Chance and we decided to plant pollinator plants to help bees and butterflies. When the flowers grow, it will help the bees. We planted 3 kinds of flowers that are native plants. We can't wait until the flowers grow! πΉππ¦ Innovation Elementary
