Thanks to everyone involved in this year's #NESST Hikes. Thanks to Scout NESST for the route, organisation etc; to NottsScoutsAdventure for checking our kit; to Bog Squad & members of Nottinghamshire Scouts County Team who welcomed us at checkpoints. And, to anyone else involved we don't know!!

This week, the Scouts worked in their Patrols to construct towers from newspapers! The challenge was to make the tallest free-standing tower. But, we also gave extra credit for design! #SkillsForLife

It might have been a few days early, but last night the Scouts made pancakes! They did everything themselves in their patrols: setting up the cookers, making the batter, cooking and eating the pancakes and even (most of!) the washing up! It was a fab night!

The Explorers are in London this weekend! Tomorrow they'll be taking part in the London Monopoly Run Challenge against other Explorer Units. Follow their Twitter account to see the places they visit!!

The day has finally arrived! The Notts Scouts The BIG Weekend is here. Our hallways have been cleared; the food has been bought; the kit has been sorted; the trailer is packed; and the tents are going up this morning! Looking forward to a great weekend!! 🏕

We're in!! It's starting......

The camp is pretty much set up now...! We're taking a break sheltering from the rain before we finish off!

Today some of the older Scouts were out on a navigation hike as practice for their Expedition Challenge (in Sept). We had nearly all weathers but that didn't deter them! They practiced their map reading and compass bearings and learnt some useful tips and tricks to help them!

....and we're off. The Scouts are off on Summer Camp today! ⛺

The first day on camp was a good one. Set up camp. Explored the site (only Group here). Made flags related to our camp theme in Patrols ready for an Opening Ceremony (no boats on a river for ours!). Used pioneering skills for camp gadgets. Had delicious paella for dinner!
