✈️ Delighted to have Royal Air Force Red Arrows display at Armed Forces Day on Sat 21 Jun - promising to be a fantastic day out at Newtownards Airfield. We are also blessed to have bbmf and RAF Falcons ✈️

'Macho agenda of militarisation' says our First Minister about a limited increase in defence spend to tackle underfunding & help protect the West. We have 'no alternative' as Michelle would also say bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

✅️ UK workers pay less income tax than most other countries at avg wage, x2 & x5, including RoI; ✅️ UK workers retain more of their salary than most comparable countries, including RoI; ✅️ Top 1% of taxpayers pay 29% of total tax; ‼️ Other taxes bring UK above OECD average

NI's income growth & improved performance in relation to other UK regions will disappoint those who enjoy seeing NI do badly. Bizarre when some of them actually live here 🤷‍♂️

I may not agree with Micheál Martin's aspiration but his approach is at least based in reality. Those selling the idea of a border poll in a few years are fantasists. Better to build a NI that works for everyone here along with developing good relationships across these islands

Sir Hans Sloane, the famous Ulster-Scot who invented milk chocolate and helped found the British Museum, was born on April 16th, 1660. This is his extraordinary story 👇🏻

Another article on why NI is the worst place in the world 🙄 Surprised Brian hasn't moved across the border to Shangri-La. House prices & standard of living? Despite its problems, NI has done OK considering 30 years of terrorism & it's largest party wanting to end the state

My deepest sympathies to the Catholic community on the sad loss of Pope Francis. His leadership & commitment to his great office were evident right until the end. Rest in peace.

A lot of interest recently in economic comparisons between NI & RoI. I wonder if there will be the same interest in this article 🤔 🚨 Spoiler alert: it concludes that using consumption (AIC) as a better measure than GDP or GNI, NI is slightly ahead briefingsforbritain.co.uk/northern-irela…

I strongly believe in freedom of speech. But in the context of recent standards for prosecution, Kneecap have gone well beyond what is acceptable. This can't be justified as 'art'

Worth noting (as wasn’t quite clear in the reporting) that these are *employed wages* (taken from PAYE) and thus exclude self-employment and rental. Still, again, not exactly the picture some like to paint…

No wonder Queen's University Belfast 🎓 research shows unionist support for the Windsor Framework collapsing. Question is, why do others still see it so positively when the negative impact on the NI economy is self evident? 🤷‍♂️ Border checks within the UK need to go bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Where will the Economy NI Minister's 'in year funding' for universities come from when the NI Executive has a half billion black hole in Department of Health? To quote Sam McBride, another example of 'the baffling poverty of ambition in how Sinn Fein governs' bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
