LOTR 5e recap: With the help of Archet hunters, the pcs made their assault on the goblin cave near Combe. They were resisted by a great black warg and 3 elite orcs. The battle was pitched, and Thror the dwarf was killed by the chief. The fellowship prevailed but at a heavy cost.

I've killed more low-level 5e characters than old school characters, and its not even close. All level 3 or lower though.

The industrial districts hum with frequencies that predate human settlement. Steel scaffolding bends toward configurations that violate euclidean geometry, while concrete foundations crack under pressures that exceed material tolerances. Alien intelligences leak through

I've been avoiding buying or reading new cyberpunk games for like 5 years now, but damn I think I might cave and pick up Blade Runner. Looks gorgeous, and I'm curious about the YZ engine v.2. Anyone play? Worth it?

Kris H. It's a very focused version of YZ and the book prepares players well for playing in a police procedural context. We played it for awhile and have shared our first investigation in this playlist of annotated videos: youtube.com/playlist?list=…

Here's another in progress spread from the "neotribe" chapter of Chromatic Shadows Core. Going back to photos for the artwork here. I think it's starting to come together.

Entirely my experience as well. Why game books need to be written and intentionally designed for REFERENCE during play :)

Still Covid, still grinding on Chromatic Shadows Core layout/ edits/ whatever. Almost through Combat!! FYI, this game utilizes concealment, cover, and barriers as separate layered mechanics. Just in case you thought I was going soft. Here's a spread. Don't get poisoned homies.

Realized I can't really write Chromatic Shadows combat w/out putting it on the grid. You can do simple fights, theater of the mind, but it's really built for setpiece, tactical tabletop skirmish if I'm being honest. Cool maps, terrain, complex moving parts, etc. That's the game.
