In English today the children played a game to transform a root adjective into its comparative form if they threw a 1, 2,or 3 on a dice, or into its superlative form if they threw a 4, 5 or 6. Headteacher at OLOL #EnglishOLOL

In science the children compared and grouped different types of seeds using observational skills. They explained that a plant is a living thing that often has roots, stems and leaves and that most plants produce seeds which grow into new plants. Headteacher at OLOL #ScienceOLOL

The children used their observational skills to draw a seashell. They considered the shape of the shell. Was it round, oval, long, or spiral? What patterns or textures did they see on the surface of the shell? Were there any ridges, bumps, or grooves?Headteacher at OLOL #ArtOLOL

The children made equal groups using 12 teddies. They are developing early multiplication skills and language by making equal groups and finding out how many there are altogether. Headteacher at OLOL #MathOLOL

Lots of fun was had at our fundraiser 'Soak The Teacher' event this afternoon. We had some very brave teachers joining in and the children threw with great accuracy! A Young & S Osborne Headteacher at OLOL Mr Gallagher

In maths we have started to look at fractions. By looking at a range of shapes and objects, in groups we found matching pairs which represented a half. #MakeADifference Headteacher at OLOL #MathOLOL

In our lesson on Pentecost, we reflected on the scripture describing how the Holy Spirit came like a mighty wind and appeared as tongues of fire. To deepen their understanding of this powerful moment, the children created their own symbolic flames. Headteacher at OLOL #OLOLRE

Miss Clarke's exciting playtime box is very popular with our Key Stage 1 children . Headteacher at OLOL #makeadifference

The children were so excited to help raise money for our new Key Stage 1 water fountain today at the market stall. Well done to the year 6 children who organised this. Headteacher at OLOL #makeadifference

Today our young artists began their journey into the world of colour by discovering the primary colour. They used these bold shades to paint their very own colour wheels. Next we’ll be mixing and blending to uncover the secondary colours. Headteacher at OLOL #ArtOLOL

Our clever mathematicians have been exploring halves and quarters in a practical, hands-on way. By splitting into equal groups of 2 and 4, they discovered what it really means to find a half and a quarter using themselves as the fractions! Headteacher at OLOL #MathOLOL

In maths we had 6 pancakes to share but there weren’t enough! First, we tried halves, but that only gave us 12 pieces. So we used our fractions knowledge and cut them into quarters instead and created 24 delicious pieces to enjoy and share. Headteacher at OLOL #MathOLOL

After learning about primary colours and painting them on our colour wheel, we got creative and mixed them to discover new secondary colours, orange, green, and purple completing our vibrant colour wheels! Headteacher at OLOL #ArtOlol

To mark World Environment Day yesterday, we joined a live assembly about ending plastic pollution. Afterwards, we explored the everyday items we use plastic for and thought about eco-friendly alternatives we could choose instead. Headteacher at OLOL #GeogOLOL

One of our young readers took the storytelling spotlight today and had the whole class hanging on every word. A beautiful reminder of how powerful peer inspiration can be. Headteacher at OLOL #EnglishOLOL
