From August 2025 universities in England have to address harassment and sexual misconduct. If you want our take - and an overview of key points - from the The Office for Students (OfS) new regulatory approach, see our new blog post, hot off the press: 1752group.com/office-for-stu…

IF... That's a very important if. We suspect the current patchy and uneven response will continue despite regulation, as the monitoring and oversight will be 'risk-based' i.e. minimal

Very good thread on an important regulatory step to prevent harassment and sexual misconduct in HE, which remains a deep-rooted problem.

Characteristically useful analysis by the 1752 Group on the OFS's new regulation on harassment & sexual misconduct in HE. We have to keep pushing for (well-defined) bans on staff-student relationships to keep PGRs & students safe - as encouraged but not required by OFS.

1) I have just found out about a funny story. A feminist friend wrote a book chapter on #metoo and #workplaceharasment of women in academia. She gave my #metoo case as an example and the publishing house without her consent censored the names -mine as well I assume-.
