Another hot one out there nearing upper 80s and the 90 degree mark. Plenty of sunshine with the slightest chance of an afternoon isolated storm. Drier air moves in behind the Monday morning cold front. @13newsnow

Hot and humid out there today with heat index values in the triple digits. A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH until 10 pm. Damaging wind gusts and hail will be the greatest threats. I will be here at the station watching radar to make sure everyone has a safe and wonderful weekend :)

The Shenandoah Valley is in desperate need of rainfall, whereas in #757 we are seeing some dry spots. Good news for all, we are tracking Friday rain. A cold front will bring rain to the western portion of the state and a coastal low will bring rain to the coastline of VA and NC.
