ACT leader David Seymour has been sworn in as Deputy Prime Minister, replacing NZ First leader Winston Peters. The mid-term switch was a part of the coalition agreement the two parties signed with National after the 2023 election.

Te Pāti Māori MP Takutai Tarsh Kemp, MP for Tāmaki Makaurau has sadly died this morning. Kemp was first elected in 2023 and had a background in health and Māori youth development. A by-election will be held in due course.

New Zealand First List MP Tanya Unkovich is reportedly set to resign from Parliament today, according to 1News. Unkovich was first elected in 2023. The next person on the NZ First List is David Wilson, a former chief executive from Whangārei.
