Fibonacci Sequence in Plants Visual Guide! 🧵 The golden ratio (~1.618) and Fibonacci sequence (0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13..) are said to be found throughout the universe. While many of these claims are false, the golden ratio and Fibonacci sequence appear in plant structures

Honestly this is the highest compliment one can pay me. Knowing my original protocols, or mods to existing ones to make them more accessible, actually help people gives me fuel to keep going. All my work is open. Please use!

It took me SEVEN years to figure out that you can save a ggplot as a vectorized .svg file ggsave("file.svg"). The svg file can be opened on powerpoint and it will be completely vectorized, even text are still recognized as text boxes! No more recreating plots on illustrator!!!!!

Magnolia is known for their stunning flowers but the fruits/seeds are fun too! Once the fruits dry & crack open, the bright red seeds will hang down through a thread of thickened xylems, dangle dangle dangle to attract birds (and botanically curious you). #plantjoy #iamabotanist

False rings, or inter annual bands, are always a challenge but it’s cool when they show up across samples. What starts as a challenge then becomes a marker you look for to help crossdate. Pretty neat!
