The government has released its Early Years Strategy, which sets out a 10-year roadmap.

I agree, we must absolutely value the early years.

The government can take 2 steps towards a better system in the Budget by lifting the wages of educators and scrapping the Activity Test.

In April, 13 women were killed by male violence. The Independent crossbench wrote to the PM seeking urgent action to address this national emergency. His response is appreciated, reproduced in full here. Now, for action. We will not stop pushing on this. Enough is enough.

Affordable and accessible early childhood education is critical for growing the economy and enabling women to work. Without this, we can't unlock the economic powerhouse women can be for our economy. We should do it in this budget, not next.

Great example of the value adding a community independent can bring. The members for Kooyong and Goldstein will continue to seek fair treatment for citizens.

Today was a helpful day. Helpful for people living with the burden of HECS/HELP debts in their lives. My statement on what more needs to be done.

12 months ago I asked the government to change how HECS is indexed. Since then the crossbench (and 288,004 people who signed the HECS petition launched by my Independent colleague @mon4kooyong) have exerted pressure for this change. Today, this.

I welcome & applaud AFL for using the power of football to draw attention to violence against women this weekend.I genuinely do.I also look forward to girls getting their own change rooms so they can play feeling respected and equally valued.Because that’s how we change culture.
