When you watch the Prime Minister’s answer below, remember this: since 2015 the UK has licensed over £489m worth of arms to Israel.

The Tories have lost the argument. Now they are trying to mislead the public.

Today marks 76 years since the Nakba, when 750,000+ Palestinians were violently expelled from their homes.

The UK government is utterly failing in its moral and legal obligations to the Palestinian people:

It continues to reject an immediate ceasefire and still arms Israel, while refusing to create a Gaza Family Scheme to reunite Palestinians with loved ones in the UK. Shameful.

The war in Sudan continues to rage, with hospitals overflowing in the besieged city of El Fasher and a new @HRW report detailing ethnic cleansing in Darfur.

The international community must work to end the violence, including by holding to account those guilty of war crimes.

Biden has moved to halt arms shipments so there is no excuse now for the UK government not to stop arms sales to Israel. There never was. Labour must demand unequivocally that arms sales are ended immediately. Any minister or official signing off sales will be at legal risk.
