Albini’s skill, technique, decades of experience and dedication (not to mention his resume!) could have made him one of the most expensive engineers in rock music but he stayed in Chicago and recorded anybody for $900 a day and if that isn’t punk enough to make you cry idk man.

Xoshi ged 400k in the early 90s was definitely way more than $900. I can see why he would think that was steep. He has some quote about how the major label artists are getting so screwed by their labels that he may as well get a piece.
