It's moving to see so many people writing about Bill Hart-Davidson as a person, mentor, friend, colleague, husband. I didn't know him and didn't always like his scholarship, but I liked that he was a thinker and he wasn't afraid to let people know when he thought his ideas mattered. RIP.

I believe my family is proud, though they downplay it, perhaps due to me. In Persian, there's a distinction between a medical doctor and a PhD, referred to respectfully as 'Mr. Doctor' ('آقا دکتر '). Lately, I've felt like a failure for not helping as many people as I'd like to.

I know I need to exercise, but that involves me sitting upright, getting dressed, driving to a gym, signing up, exercising, driving home, taking a shower, and still feeling like I'm doing all of this for nothing because who am I trying to impress? Balad of a lonely single sadboi.
