Wasnโ€™t expecting an account called โ€˜People & Citiesโ€™ to so clearly hate both of those things

A perfect encupsulation of modern Britain. Cranes that used to represent development and progress used to justify the blocking of the same today.

You imagine telling the fellahs who built these cranes that one day people would try and stop housing being built behind the cranes as it would mess up the few of the cranes. They would assume you where mad.

We've got to stop acting as if the green thing to do is to say 'stop, no, don't build that.' Wrong.

The climate action thing to do is say 'yes, we need solar panels in the desert, wind turbines offshore, big new transmission lines, new housing, and much more.'
Build it please!

It's hard to imagine any working class person with bills and rent to pay saying that 12.5% decrease in rents isn't a big deal, but some people on Twitter will dismiss it because it's not radical enough. Sorry, but your pet ideology is not more important than the cost of living.

Somewhat obvious but the reason why we farm at industrial scales is because it produces more food with the same land and labour than farming in small garden-size plots tended by one person each.
