Lovely buzz in the shop today for the Distillery release of Wire Works Up’ards and Down’ards. A side-by-side bottling of identical casks filled the same month in 2019, but matured apart in upper and lower dunnage’s. A dive into place 🥃

Spent a fascinating day being shown around whitepeakdistillery, who despite having just released their first English whisky only two years ago are already producing a seriously impressive product. Podcast soon, articles a bit later.

100% this. Among the UK’s new-wave distilleries, whitepeakdistillery are doing everything right. Suspect opting for lightly peated malt was a smart play; imparts extra flavour to young spirit, without drowning the other facets in phenols. Plus quality, intelligently-selected casks.

Dram number two this Friday is a new bottle opening. I tried this whitepeakdistillery Double Oak Port cask at this distillery & was blown away by the depth of flavour achieved in a whisky so young. If you haven't tried any of their stuff yet, why not? You won't be disappointed.

Cheeky little line up on the Certified Originals live tonight... Enjoyed the new Kk 8yo, more subtle than previous releases but a decent sulphur and peat hit. The Glen Moray is a solid dram for the £18 I paid, and the whitepeakdistillery Capital Whisky Club bottle is delicious as always

I’ve not had that many English Whiskies, but this whitepeakdistillery has hit the number one spot for me, first taste has me thinking I need to get another bottle.
