This is only my opinion but if you want to mitigate learning loss from the pandemic for your child (or any child) read aloud to or with them from a challenging & engaging book at or slightly above their comfort range for independent reading as much as you possibly can.

Been reading Tom Bennett OBE's Running the Room. You might not expect it to be beautiful but it is. The story of how to build learning culture brought to life through tragic, poignant, hopeful stories of our societal (& his own) successes & failures. It's like pragmatic Tolstoy.
