Monica Dinculescu It's nice to have the option tbh. I was thinking of doing something similar with feeds per tag when I get around to rebuilding my site.
@Lady_Ada_King Monica Dinculescu Yeah, options are valuable here, bc it depends on exactly what I'm interested in from a feed. It's real annoying to constantly get updates from a feed when I ignore 80% of them. But conversely, when I *do* want the firehose, it's annoying to have to sub to N different things.
🦋@tabatkins.com (bsky) @Lady_Ada_King how do you expect to discover them? at the moment I have them listed on their specific pages, and the firehose atom.xml isn’t listed but it’s a thing feedly for ex would find.
Monica Dinculescu @Lady_Ada_King I'd expect an RSS icon or something in the header or footer, which would link to a page listing the feeds. (With, as you have, the firehose living at the well-known name.)
🦋@tabatkins.com (bsky) Monica Dinculescu The thing I would expect is the meta-tag, if things look like a blog I usually just try opening the page in my feed reader which will try to discover any feeds, an icon is great too!
@Lady_Ada_King 🦋@tabatkins.com (bsky) Oh my god there’s meta tags! I forgot about meta tags.
Monica Dinculescu @Lady_Ada_King 🦋@tabatkins.com (bsky) You can even add multiple <link rel=alternate ... /> tags and give each one a title, then many/some clients will ask which to pick when one gives it the URL to the HTML page
