In the only ophiolite of the Alps, Chenaillet. The last place on earth this stuff wanted to be at is an Alpine mountain top. Pretty sure it planned to be halfway down the Earth’s mantle by now. Poor thing. Nice place thought, bit cold.

Hey, French , is there a comprehensive text about the Geology of France, preferably in English? Google Scholar only provides more regional overviews.

Today is World Homeopathy Day.

In its honor, let’s remember that time The Amazing James Randi overdosed on homeopathy and lived to tell about it.

Did the TT of stage 7 of this year’s TdF this morning over the Rue des Grands Crus. That was great! Now ready for some Geology & Wine filming!

What?? This is a fake cobble! This is not a Henegouwen porphyry granite, this looks like some dirty marble! Isn’t there a race geologist who checks these kind of things?

This animation shows the earthquake waves from the M7.4 earthquake in Taiwan roll across seismic stations in North America. By the time the waves reach this side of the world they are far too small to feel, but not too small to be measured by sensitive instruments. 🔊 (sound on)
