Lemley and Mantanona take fifth place at 65kg and 74kg, respectively. Sergio with six unanswered points to beat Gorman, 11-5. Mantanona with another 10-0 tech over Hanson in :49.

Lemley bounces back with two wrestleback wins at 65kg, a pin at the final buzzer then a 9-2 decision with four exposures in three separate scrambles. He and Mantanona (74kg) are both in consolation semis.

Mantanona falls 13-10 to Sealey in the 74kg semifinals. Led 8-6 at the break on early takedown, gut and two crotch lifts. Sealey rallied with three stepouts and a takedown in the second.

Lemley dropped a tough one, 4-2, to Valencia in the 65kg quarters. Led late on criteria, Valencia finished a takedown off a restart with :10 left.

Mantanona moves into the U20 semifinals with a 10-0 tech over Hanson at 74kg. His third straight 10-0 tech after a quick first-round pin. Scored a 2pt takedown, 4pt bodylock and two guts from the same sequence in :59.

Wolverines push Lemley (65kg) and Mantanona (74kg) into tomorrow’s US Open U20 quarterfinals. 👏

Beau Mantanona is looking razor sharp 🔪 in his early round matches at the U20 US Open Championships in the men’s freestyle division.

Wolverines have Lemley in the Round of 16 and Gilcher, Mantanona, Owens, Trost and incoming freshman Flores in the Round of 32. Second session starts now.
