Congratulations to Shalain Garcia, BA ’07, MA ’09 on receiving the Cochrane Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion Award at UAlbany Alumni Association’s annual Excellence Awards Gala. Shalain earned her master’s from UAlbany School of Criminal Justice and serves as statewide race equity coordinator at NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services.

Congratulations to John D. Porcari, MPA ’85 on receiving the Milk Excellence in Public Service Award at UAlbany Alumni Association's annual gala. John is a managing partner at 3P Enterprises and credits Rockefeller College with providing the skills he needed to have a long & successful career.

To date, more than 150,000 K-12 students in 45 states have learned and practiced the power of empathy through Blankets of Hope, a non-profit founded by Irvis Outstanding Young Alumni Award recipient Nick Fio ’14 and his brother Mike.
