So, how does this fit into broader US shipbuilding this year? Well, in 2023, the Navy will have commissioned/taken delivery of three Burkes this year (DDG-125, DDG-123, DDG-120). The yards will launch two extra Burkes this year (DDG-124 and DDG-128).

Contrary to popular belief, the US has a ton of warships under construction, launching, doing sea trials and awaiting delivery. They have six destroyers under various levels of construction, three about the launch, one christened and one doing sea-trials.
