Tonight I raise a glass to my dad who raised me and despite working his ass off at CAT, always had time to take me rollerkskating, taught me to shoot at age 4, taught me to reload, how to sew, how to bead, and inspired me to be the little book reading weirdo girl that I was.

I can’t think of a better way to end Memorial Day than Major Dick Winters holding the American flag. 🇺🇸

On this Memorial Day we remember Private Horace (Harrace) Leonard Bullard a prou Marine who gave his life in defense of freedom during the 2nd World War. He was one of more than 2000 American soldiers killed in the Battle of Peleliu while clashing with the Imperial Japanese Army.

My Grandfather was a WWI veteran. He’s buried on one side of the headstone and my grandmother is buried on the other side…in the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. He was a helluva cowboy and broke horses for the Army…lived on a ranch most of his life.🙏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

J&L Historical Buck Miller (1921-2018) My dad was an Iwo Jima vet (4th Mar Div), and my second cousin (5th Mar Div) died there. I appreciate this…what a hero Basilone was.

Buck Miller (1921-2018) My flag is waving proudly, my mother would be proud. Every day one of our chores was to put the American flag out to support our country and our troops. Mom was a nurse in North Africa during World War II and her famous saying was tell it to the Marines!

It is customary on Memorial Day to fly the US flag at half staff until noon, and then raise it to the top of the staff until sunset. #MemorialDay2024

This Marine gave their life so that we may live ours. Remember them and all the other soldiers who gave their lives for us this Memorial Day. 🇺🇸🕊️🙏🏼

Please take a moment this #MemorialDay to remember Lance Corporal Hunter D. Hogan, 1/8, USMC.

LCpl Hogan died June 23rd, 2012 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was 21 years old but will and always be a Marine. #USMC

Jim LaPorta Buck Miller (1921-2018) Semper Fi brother, we will never forget the ones we lost.

Marine Cpl. Kyle R. Schneider and I served together in 2nd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. News reports said he survived one bomb attack near his base in Afghanistan's Helmand Province but was killed a month later by another on June 30, 2011. #MemorialDayWeekend

I served with Marine Staff Sgt. Javier O. Ortiz Rivera at the School of Infantry. He always had a smile on his face. He was killed while conducting combat operations in Helmand province of Afghanistan while assigned to 1st Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment. #MemorialDayWeekend

30 years ago today (25 May 1994) I raised my right hand & became a Second Lieutenant of United States Marines after graduating from the United States Naval Academy.
