August 23, 1968 marks what was known for many years as the worst day in Special Forces History – the attack on the MACV-SOG camp FOB-4 near Da Nang, Vietnam, also referred to as the Battle of Marble Mountain.

The older I get, the more I reach the conclusion that most problems within any relationship can be resolved with emotional intelligence and good communication, only if both parties have the same intention: to find solutions…intent matters

SFC Matthew Leggett. He was my replacement on the base defense team at NKC. He died a little more than 2 months after I went home pulling security outside of KAIA on a route we’d done countless times with no incident.

To many, it is a day off where you can get together with friends and family, BBQ and relax.

It is intended to have a higher meaning: honoring those who donned the uniforms of the United States Military and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

They didn’t come home to a parade with

Be safe and remember those that paid the ultimate price for our country.
