8% cut!?! Research shows early #physicaltherapy reduces total cost for LBP; is effective in ⬇️ pain in knee OA and preventing/delaying surgery. AND decreases opioid use. Yet CMS is cutting pay for PT's another 8%?! On top of PTAs 15%. This is health "CARE"?

Dear Administrator Seema Verma The new 8% cut to #physicaltherapy and #psychology services through CMS is beyond reproach. Why make cuts to 2 services that have been proven to be better alternative for pain than opioids? What happened to President Donald J. Trump promise he was not going to touch Medicare?

Today, CMS issued a wide range of temporary regulatory waivers and new rules to respond to the COVID-19 public health emergency. APTA staff are currently reviewing what it means for PTs and PTAs who work across the care continuum. We will follow up with more details tomorrow.
