Ate lunch yesterday at PDX SLIDERS and had one of my favorite meals, The Nashville. It was even better than I remembered; so moist and tender,with just the right amount of heat. Except I think they gave me a burger size fillet on my slider, but I'm not complaining lol #delic

Mini chocolate cakes. I'd seen recipes which use boiling water but had never tried making one, so I figured I'd give it a shot today. They look and feel really moist, so I'm anxious to try it and see. Not the most symmetrical cakes I've ever made, but hopefully they taste good!

Was excited to find Charles Martin's newest book at the library. Along with Michael Connelly, Martin has been a favorite author of mine for a long time. His books are always so heartfelt and meaningful, and he writes so beautifully. I always thoroughly enjoy his books.

My life isn't bad; I have a lot to be grateful for. But I know that my life would be so much more fulfilling and I'd be happier if I wasn't so alone. As much as I love to cook, it's sort of bittersweet that I only cook for myself. I would love to have someone special to cook for.

The finished pizza! It has fresh basil, sauteed mushrooms, onion, garlic, fresh mozzarella, pecorino ramano, and pepperoni. The sauce and crust are homemade. Had pizza for dinner and watched the first episode of season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer.

I'm doing savory today, and making a pizza pie! Between making the sauce, the dough, and pie, it's a nice all-day project, and I get rewarded with a delicious dinner!

The French macarons were a big hit at work last week, so I made another batch for today. The egg whites weren't whipping up to stiff peaks and I almost tossed the batter, but they turned out really good. My piping skills suck and they're kinda wonky looking, but they taste good!

I was sad to hear that Bob Moore, of Bob's Red Mill Flour, has passed away. Sounded like he was a genuinely nice man who took good care of his employees. Plus his company is not too far from Portland. I've been a long-time user of his various flours.
