We call on Israel to halt its offensive which is making it impossible to provide lifesaving medical assistance and for people to find safety amid this campaign of destruction.

New evacuation orders for parts of Rafah have forced MSF to begin referring the remaining 22 patients at the Rafah Indonesian Field Hospital to other facilities, as we can no longer guarantee their safety.

I have come across multiple instances today of people presenting old aurora photos as if they were from the current solar storm.

That is disappointing.

It is also no longer surprising to me, given what happens whenever there is a large meteor bolide.

Not just . This from the South Pole!
We're seeing amazing pictures from London, Switzerland, Austria--even in bright cities.
Skies in NE Colorado and nearby areas will gradually clear this evening. This may be the best chance to see the aurora here in 20 years.

Sunspot causing all of the solar storminess and aurora potential is so big you can safely see it using your eclipse glasses (if the sun is out where you are) in the sun's southwestern hemisphere. This is known as active region 3664.

'Analysts estimate that a project financed by borrowing large sums of money might be sustainable if it did not have to pay interest on the loans' is not remotely the same as 'the project is now profitable'.

What would it look like to circle a black hole? If the black hole was surrounded by a swirling disk of glowing and accreting gas, then the great gravity of the black hole would deflect light emitted by the disk to make it look very unusual. The featured animated video gives a…

I report accounts to Twitter for various reasons and block them.

Twitter sends me an average of 13 emails for each report; each pretending that the account 'hasn’t broken our rules' without any involvement of a human evident at any point.

Prolific spam as a failure mode.

I read that the Boy Scouts of America are rebranding, claiming to now be more inclusive; while still discriminating against about 1/3 of potential members.

I doubt that works out for them.
